Have you tried lawn bowling? A challenging outdoor sport that anyone can play, especially on our fast green where it is all about finesse and concentration and not strength. Great team camaraderie in a lovely social environment. Most games are mixed male and female. Come join us for a complementary introductory game.

Harry Schoenfeld Scholarship

The Harry Schoenfeld Scholarship is open to members of the general public, ages 12-25, without regard to race, religion, color, sex, national origin, disability, age, veteran status, creed, marital status, public assistance status, or sexual orientation. It is awarded with the expectation that the recipient will play at the Santa Cruz Lawn Bowling Club on a regular basis and participate in club activities as appropriate. The Harry Schoenfeld Scholarship will provide for all membership fees and associated costs (name badge, key, storage fees, etc.) for one (1) year from the date of the award. Recipients will be determined by majority vote of selection committee. Call 421-9660 for information and application.

As a member of Santa CruzLBC you are also a member of the PIMD division of USLBA, and eligible to compete in regional and national tournaments. We even host some of the divisional ones. See www.USLBA.org.

 

Pro Bowlers Qualifying Playdown

September 5-12,2009

The Pro Bowlers Qualifying Playdown was a tremendous success! Our venue was so well received that the PBA has asked to return for next year's event. Thanks to all of the many club members who committed massive amounts of their time and talent, making it the great experience it was. For more information regarding the winners of the September Pro Bowlers Qualifying Playdown go to www.bowlspba.com click on "PBA Branches" and select "USA". M-W-F by reservation 1-3pm

From Memorial Day to Labor Day, whites will be worn only on Sundays. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, Saturday draw will be at 9:30 a.m.

Try lawn bowling on a World Class Green

The fastest and most perfect green in Northern California, because it is the newest.. and it is artificial turf. And nestled in a little redwood grove which often gets a gentle ocean breeze.

WHAT CONSTITUTES A WORLD CLASS GREEN?

A 120 foot by 120 foot grass or artificial grass surface constructed of a well drained compacted substrate layer leveled to within 1/8" level every ten foot of surface where the bowl when rolled upon the surface travels at a specific speed to meet world standards for tournament play.
